Emay Cowx – Certified Professional Facilitator
Emay Cowx is a multi-disciplinary professional with over 25 years of experience in a variety of roles in the North American energy sector.
Her career encompasses stints in economic and market analysis, regulatory, marketing, sales, strategic planning, policy development and communications in the continental natural gas environment (notably through the transition period of deregulation) and in the Ontario electricity industry.
Prior to establishing C2C Strategies, Emay was with the Ontario Power Authority as their first Manager of Stakeholder & Community Relations. There, she designed and delivered engagement programs for conservation, electricity procurement and electricity system planning.
Many of the approaches and elements of these engagement strategies have since been adopted and replicated by key industry partners.
During this period, Emay led the design, development and implementation of a robust and comprehensive First Nations and Métis engagement strategy on the agency’s long term power system plan. She also led the communications and outreach efforts related to the Feed-in Tariff Programs.
Prior to that period she advised corporate clients engaging in demand-side management practices as a regulatory consultant.
Emay is presently specializing in the field of consultation, engagement and outreach in her own firm and is an International Association of Facilitators Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF).
Emay has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.
